It’s weigh in day!

tending-the-temple-new-year

Hey everyone, sorry about the delayed reminder!  I was away since Friday on a student mission trip to Philadelphia and am just now beginning to get caught up!

Today is weigh in day!  All I need from you, though, is your current weight.  No photos or anything like that – those are just at the beginning and the end when the weights are counting towards the prizes.  Then on Wednesday I’ll post the Biggest Loser of the week, and the hall of fame superstars – anyone who lost 1% or more in the space of just a week, always an impressive feat!

  1. I am 2 lbs down. I know this is a respectable and even healthy number to have show up. But today I am disappointed and it seems even more disappointed than when I have lost nothing. At least then I could point and see where I did not do well or where I ate poorly. BUt I know this is not the case for me. I have counted every calorie, I have increased my calories (and yes I know that my body is probably still rebounding from the calorie deficit) and I have exercised at least 2 hours every day.

  2. 2lbs is great though Kim. As long as you know you did your best there is no reason to feel down. I had a good loss this week but I know that is not the typical case for me. Eventully I will get down to a 1lb a week loss and I know what you mean it's disappointing but if I dwell on it, the following week is always a gain.. So when the time comes for a bad week.. just remind me of this conversation.. lol You did great kim!

  3. Kim,
You can go to sparkrecipes.com and there is a place you can put all the ingrediants and it will tell you how many calories are in it.

I barely made 1% this week. I was really thinking I wasn't going to. I will push harder for the next weigh-in.

  4. I know what you mean about feeling down. I lost 4 pounds, same a the week before, even though I upped my cardio. I am trying not to dwell on it being the same amount down. I think what is hardest for me is that I lost that 4th pound on Friday so from then till now I have stayed the same. I weigh myself everyday so I can get an idea if I need to up my cardio or change my eating. It is so hard for me not to cut back on calories when I see things like this. I am pushing to hit 1,200 calories and man it is hard. I did it a few days this past week so that was good.
Gotta work harder to loose more. My goal is to loose 20 pounds a month, but I am not sure that is going to happen this month. That would mean I would have to loose 10 more pounds in the 11 days left in this month. Oh well.
Glad I go to the gym with my trainer tonight, he will pump me up and get my head back on straight.

  5. Wow! You guys all did GREAT! I only lost 1 pound. Very disappointing! I'm going to try and not let it get me down, but it is tough. I'll just get to the gym more this week. I know it isn't the calories because I hit my range of 1220 – 1550 everyday. I'm usally on the lower side of the range.

Jeanette: 20 pounds in a month seems a little bit tough. I would love to have that same kind of weight lose, but I really don't see it being realistic and healthy unless you are working out like they do on BL. 10 pounds a month is probably more doable. I'm usually like you and have this huge "unattainable" goal and that is when I get let down. Good luck to you, but I would probably reconsider to a little bit more attainable goal, but that's just my 2 cents!

  7. Hi Everyone!

Good work everyone. DON"T forget people on the RANCH have lost only 1-2#'s in the dreaded week #2 and they work out like crazy.

I lost 2 for a total of 14 in 2 weeks and my husband lost 4.5 this week for a total of 13.

Keep your chins up and don't give up we are in this together.
