Biggest Loser Casting Tips (season 8, page 4)

Okay, casting is well on it’s way for season eight of Biggest Loser.  I’m reposting this entry to enable people to continue the conversation started here.  As you can see by the title, this is actually page four; page two is here, and page three is here.  There’s over a couple thousand comments worth of ideas, notes, and other information, including casting directors, and former contestants (other than myself) on each of those pages, so if you have some time it’s worth exploring.  Here are the vital links:

  • NBC has posted casting information and the application here.
  • Pete Thomas, the season 2 $100,000 winner has some of the best casting call advice out there, which you can find at
  • Jen Kerns, a season three contestant like myself, and a doctor for the show for seasons four and five, has also put together some fantastic casting advice that you can read here.
  • My original casting tips post with over a thousand comments worth of discussion, click here.  Stacy, Adam, Phil, Amy and Coleen were all reading and posting in the discussion there – it’s fun to look back and realize they were some of the superstars of season six!
  • My second post (fairly identical to this one), with well over two thousand comments worth of discussion, click here.
  • If you’re dealing with disappointment about not being cast, then check out my post on Biggest Loser casting disappointment.

One of the questions I hear a lot is about money … how do contestants afford to be away from home and work for months at a time?  I don’t know what it is now, but when I was a contestant there was a $500 a week stipend for cast members on the ranch.  When you received the check you could cash it and spend it, send it home, save it, whatever.  All airplane tickets, hotel accommodations, etc., for the contestants and potential cast members are taken care of by NBC, and during the casting process it self there was a $50 per diem to cover food costs.

Another question is timing; typically a season lasts for about 8-9 months.  About four of this is spent in filming; if you last all the way until the final three or four, you could be away from home for as much as four months or so.  Once the ranch filming wraps and the last few contestants are sent home, however, there is still another four or five months that all the contestants have to continue losing weight until the finale.  In addition, potential cast members are flown out to California a couple weeks before filming begins for the final round of casting, medical checkups, psychological evals, etc.  NBC brings out more people than what they need and the cast is not finalized until filming literally begins.  People have been cut at the last minute and replacements flown in with hardly any time to spare.  Nothing is in stone until it’s on camera!

When will you hear from Biggest Loser about your video?  There is no way of knowing.  I heard back a few weeks after I sent it in, but even after that it’s a big waiting game.  If you get a phone number or email from a casting direction, definitely drop them a line/call every couple weeks to find out if you’re still in the running or what’s going on.  Schedules and plans change almost every day, so it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.  If you don’t hear back within a month I would think your video didn’t make the cut.  That doesn’t mean you can’t send in another or visit a casting call – it’s just up to you!

Finally, here’s my video application tips!  This is by no means a recipe for success; it’s based on my video application and the conversations I had with casting directors out in LA in between things.  I was pretty curious about the whole process so I was pumping them for info even after filming began.  I’m such a nerd!

  • They’ve usually decided if they’re interested in you within the first 30-60 seconds of your video, so front load it with your best stuff.  Make it interesting!  Start off with something funny or exciting!
  • Keep in mind, if you’re going to be cast, your video is going to be watched hundreds of times by producers, executives, casting directors, etc.  If it bores you or your friends the second or third time watching it … put some more time into it!
  • Special effects?  Don’t bother!  We’ve all got video editing software with all sorts of bells and whistles on our home computers, but fancy transitions are not going to sell you to people who do video editing for a living.  In fact, it can distract from who you are.  I’m a video editing nerd and I didn’t use any special effects other than putting my name and contact info on as a subtitle at the beginning.
  • Don’t bother talking about why you need to lose weight.  When I first started filming my audition video I started describing all of my health reasons for losing weight – but when I was watching it back, I realized … they don’t need to hear it!  One look at me was all they needed to know I needed to lose weight!  Show them why you need to lose it; I said I needed to lose weight for my kids, and then I followed it with a minute or two of the best footage I could find of me with wrestling with my three boys.  We probably filmed half an hour of that insanity and I grabbed the cutest, loudest, and funniest few moments for the audition video.  Your physical need to lose weight is not nearly as interesting as who or what your losing the weight for.
  • Live loud!  Reality TV is over the top, dramatic, and filled with loud personalities.  They need to see that on your video!  I wanted them to know that even though  I was morbidly obese I was up to the challenge of the crazy competitions and workouts – so I threw on a bunch of clips from my different youth group activities; me getting slimed, snowtubing, playing paintball, screaming at events, being on stage, running around … you get the idea.  Other contestants did things appropriate to their lives; Tim from Oregon had himself spinning out on his Harley, Tim from Delaware recruited his elementary school class to do things with him, Heather Hanson filmed herself running around in a sports bra all day doing her household chores and errands.  The less talking and more action you can have, the better (in my opinion)!
  • If you have footage or photos of yourself thin, include those at some point on the video.  If you can show them what your after will be, then do it!

Remember, enjoy the conversation here and know that I will never compromise your anonymity – not to NBC, 3Ball, Casting Directors or anyone.  You can post anonymously, or you can leave your names and contact information … just remember that NBC likes to be the one announcing their cast for the show, so if you start identifying yourself publicly as a finalist, you’ll probably find yourself eliminated from the casting process.  Good luck to everyone … and let me know if you make the show!  Pete Thomas has more contestants on season seven than I did and I’m bitter!  ;)

  1. YMOS –

No, I do not own a GoWearFit. I had never heard of it until you just brought it up.

  2. isappointed,

Thanks for the prayers. Liked the videos. I’ve been silent b/c I haven’t had a chance to be online much (going to the gym) and I think I emotionally EXPLODED a bit much last time, so now I’m taking things a bit slow…
I, too, have always had a weight issue, but haven’t let it really affect my life all that much. I was more than willing to strap on a backpack and travel Europe, alone.. just like any other 20 something person would do. Requardless of the fact I was 350lbs. I joined a sorority w/ the intention of waiting right before I got initiating just to prove I could do it. However, I really enjoyed it and became close to some of the girls and well, still have no regrets. I am quite outgoing and, unless I expressed it, wouldn’t know I struggle. Most of my struggle is internal. My husband doesn’t’ even realize my struggle. He met me 3 months after surgery, weighting 280 and the year we dated, saw me go to 225. We had had conversations about ‘what if I never lose another lb’ and he was ok w/ it. He is also supportive and b/c this is a goal I have for myself, wants me to see it happen. I am quite bubbly and people tend to laugh at my stories, perhaps the delivery is funny, but that is always fun to see. I am not introverted or do I feel sorry for myself, ever.

Thanks for sharing about your sister and good for her for reaching her goal. I try to model good habits for my children and I don’t voice things. However, if my son gets an invite to a pool party (was 4 at the time), I might suggest we go to the Aquarium that day instead so I don’t have to go be around a bunch of other moms w/ bathing suits (after losing 100 lbs and then needing to lose 100 lbs now.. well, you see the dad on the current season… I’m not that bad, but….personally not comfortable in a suit. I won’t let my children think less of me nor project that I should be due to feeling uncomfortable. I think I present similarly to your sister a bit. However, inside…. Everyone in my world is perfectly happy w/ me as I am except me…. So….I needs to make the change.

My challenge comment came from me knowing I have it in me to accomplish this, but not putting in the effort, once again. I applied to be part of that group Matt began.. even sent pics. However….life happened and I didn’t make it a priority. When I did, I was jamming .. then I got the call from BL and stopped everything. I don’t really live life w/ woulda, coulda and shoulda….. but in this instance…perhaps I’d have not qualified for the BL show when they called and my mind would still be as clear as it was when I was I the zone. This process has muddled things a bit and I need to get back to that clarity. I’ll fight my way back, but you are correct. Nothing can come from thinking about the past….

I’ll figure this out, but I do want to than you for your support.

  3. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Mothers and Mother-To-Be's out there.

My wish for you is that today's weather is beautiful,
    your day is wonderful and
you enjoy every minute your together with your family.

  4. Hey all gotta a few questions for you:

    1. Do any of you have a camera that produces good video? If so what kind is it? need the make and model number.

    2. I'm more than sure that a good number of us have searched online for audition vids. I was wondering if any really stood out to you. If so can you post the url here?

    3. Abitbummed….do you have an email addy? I would like to ask a question.

ps: who al is auditioning again.

  5. Hi Mc Fatty- I've been asking myself this question all weekend. Should I try again or should I not. To make it all the way to the final 20 ad get cut has got to be one of the hardest things I've been through thus far. As overwight people i'm sure most of us are sensitive about this issue and don't go around voluntarily brocasting our insecurities just for the fun of it. I feel like the most intimate and personal things that I struggle with in life I have shared with complete strangers, it's all onmassive amounts of video footage, written in bios, all of my personal medical information is now in the hands of dr.s and producers and yet I got NOTHING out of it but a big at door slammed in my face. I'm sure that the wounds are fresh right now, matter of fact I know they are. I tied so hard to enjoy mothers day yesterday but the truth is all I could think about was
I'm not supposed to be here, I'm supposed to be sweating to death on a ranch somewhere". While at sequestering i was told many times by the production assistants that people have tried out many times before making it. They refrenced Sione and Filipe trying out 3 times and Joelle trying out 5 times. They tried to keep us encouraged by saying many times it's not you as a person it's the direction the show is going in i.e season 7 being the biggest season ever. There was a girl there that tried oufor season 7 and believe she'll be on season 8.
I guess i'll answer your question now….I think I will try one more time since casting starts next month. I encourage everyone that does try out do not adjust your life around the chances of being on BL. I know others have warned us and said it before and I didn't listen andhave taken 2 steps back instead of forward all for the hopes of getting help. Don't be like me it's not worth it. I probably need to go see a professional because this has emotionally drained and stressed me out. If you are trying out good luck and please take it day by day.

  6. Dear Alsobummed and those who came close during this past auditions;

My heart goes out to you all. You can do this without being on a ranch. Yes the audition process is a humiliating process, bearing all and releasing all of those insecurities (and the worst was when they asked to to raise your top and show all of your jigglies that haven't seen the light of day in years) and yet we all do this because we all want to be healthy and to live a happy life and make that forever change so much that we'll put ourselves through emotional hell just for a chance at the golden ticket. A ticket to be totally exposed in that controlled environment no matter how many people are watching. Perhaps we can use all of that stuff we've all been through as a release to propell us forward. We've gone through part of the toughest road already, looking deep into what it is that has got us here in the first place… We CAN choose to release it and move forward ourselves without being on TV. We can find the strength to pull ourselves out of it one step at a time, one choice at a time. Perhaps there's a local support group near where you live such as Topps, Weight Watchers or OA. For those who hate the gym enviroment, pick up some weights and an excersize ball and do what you can at home. Even while watching TV you can be lifting weights and doing arm curls etc. Perhaps just start walking 5 minutes, and add a little more each day and get yourself strong so you can push yourself to sweat as hard as you would on the BL Ranch. For those who have health insurance, perhaps you can have your doctor prescribe physical therapy to get you safely started in a work out regime. What I've learned is that I can't rely on anyone else except myself. I've tried many times to find a workout buddy, but have always been let down, so I'm doing it on my own. It can be done. So far I've lost 83 pounds over the past three years, and lost the last 43 pounds since January while prepping myself to be strong enough to endure the BL ranch workouts incase I was selected. Even though I didn't make it for finals week, I learned so much about myself in the process and I'm doing it and you can do. I still have over 100 pounds to lose, but I will do this and you will too… BELIEVE… Things do happen for a reason, even when it doesn't make sense at the time…

Remember the NBC producers are still casting for a reality TV Show to get ratings, keep sponsors happy, make money, etc… which may have nothing to do with how wonderful and deserving you are or how great you would be on the show. Perhaps your specific "type" would be a better fit for the overall cast chemistry for a different season, etc. I would agree with you that the direction of the show seems to be shifting towards breaking new records etc…

For those who are going to audition again, all the best of luck to you…. Perhaps BLS9 or 10… will be the season where you will be the cast member to shine!

For those who are chosing to accomplish this on your own, believe that you can do it and you WILL accomplish it!

  7. alsobummed,

Hey just think you were good enough to make it to California. I did not even get a callback. So you are great person. The fact that I didnt get a callback almost drove me to tears. I finally built up the nerve to put myself out there and admit that I have a problem and that I need help. And I feel like I did when I was a kid again being picked on all the time. It really brought back some deep emotions. I can say it actually hurt. I will try one more time and thats it.

Did you tryout via video or casting call?

  8. Don'needatvshow- Thank you for your kind words. Congrats on your weightloss success. I wish that I would have lost weight durning this process but instead i gained from emotional eating. Sitting by the computer night after night waiting fo that golden ticket email to pop up while crying and eating crap. I gained 26 lbs instead of losing it. Like I said before I've taken 2 steps back.

YMOS- I did it all. I sent in 2 tapes, one with a partner and one alone and went to a casting call. I got called back from my video and was sent a VIP to go to the cc.

  9. alsobummed

I am very sorry you are feeling bad. I hope you have a great day. One good thing about life is that you always have second, third, fourth, etc.. chances. I got an email after I sent in my video asking me to come to a CC with a VIP pass. I could not go because of work and money. So I guess I kind of messed up my chance. I will not make that mistake again.

Alot of people say that they have a great story. I am a little confused by this. I guess I have no real story. I have been overweight my entire life. I have pics of me as a toddler as a pudge. I guess my story just is not that good. What was your story? If you dont mind sharing.

  10. YMOS- Thank you for the kind words. If i decide to try again it's probably best that I don't share my story. The truth is I went in with one story but the CD's at my one on one interview listened to my answers and came up with another focus for me, they did the same with two of my friends that had one on one interviews as well. I wouldn't worry about the story just be you! I must say I so understand where you are coming from as far as the feelings from your childhood. This process made me feel the same way. I felt like I had to prove that I was good enough just like having to prove to be good enough to be someones friend as a child, proving I was good enough to be a cheerleader, to be picked to be on the kick ball team and so on except this time I was proving that I was good enough for them to help save my life. I have medical conditions that make it almost impossible to lose weight. I've been on 1200 calorie diets with 2 hrs of exercise 5 days a week and have only lost 30lbs in 3 years following this plan. If I could do it at home I NEVER would have even thought of trying out for the show becasue I'd be a skinny hot momma already but unfortunatley it's a major struggle for me. I'm tired of watching BL and crying because I work out as hard as they do yet remain the same size or gain weight and instead of being inspired I get discouraged. I thought that if I had the best doctors, trainers and nutrisionit along with my determination that I would be able to finally get help and get the weight off. So now I'm back to square one, more exercise, more weight watchers, slim 4 life, master cleanse diets, Jenny Craig just to gain weight or stay the same size! It's so frustrating. I don't mean to bring your mood down or anyone else but you guys are the only ones that understand. My hubby gets that's I'm mad and frustrated and dissapointed but he doesn't GET it if you know what I mean. I'll get over it soon and get back to my fun outgoing self. Prayers would be appreciated.

  11. Don’needatvshow= you rock and I agree… I can do this (ironically, fell down the stairs this weekend and sprained my ankle…no gym for a few days! what is that!!! haven't hurt myself in YEARS).

alsobummed… I went through this process a year ago and also gained through (wanted to be at my fighting weight!) and after it!

This time, I was a bit more cautious…gained 5 on purpose, that was it (that fluxuation can be a typical week, so I'm not freaked by it).

I also agree that the overall process was really helpful for me. However, many people are not exposed to the TON of questions they ask after you get a call back (casting call). the ?'s allowed me to grow and identify and expose things I'd never really stopped to think about in the past. For that, I am greatful.

Good luck to those who wish to try again, and for those who go at it on thier own… I know I plan to be inspiring to those in my life who see me morph through this process. Anyway I can help others, just ask.

  12. alsobummed

I think you should read Jillian's New book Master Your Metabolism. It has opened my eyes to a lot of things that are going on with me. I am seeing an endocrinologist to help me figure out my body.

I think its great you are opening up to us all. You can vent anytime. I know it helps me, when I vent. Just know that we are here for you. Vent away vent until you get to that mind set that makes you happy again. We will always listen.

Just remember you are a great person.

Thanks for the info. Your the best!

  13. To all wondering about the Bodybugg…I have one, I purchased it about a month ago. I used it for two weeks without actually changing my habits at all. I wanted to see what I really burn and what I really eat. BIG SHOCK!!

I think the bugg is fantastic and it is the best fitness investment I have made to date. I was really not sure about getting it because I have spent so much on diets and fitness equipment and I thought this would just be one more thing.

It isn't…it has changed the way I think about everything. I am able to see almost minute by minute how much my body is burning. Armed with that information you just have to know that if you eat more than what you are burning you will gain weight. If you eat less than you are burning you will lose weight. It really is that simple!!! The numbers have had a profound effect on me. I am so much better at making the good choice when it is starring me right in the face.

I know it is expensive but if you can truly afford it….get it! It may well be just what you have been looking for all these years.

Oh and I have lost ten pounds in the last two weeks just because I am aware of what is going on, I don't exercise a great deal just an hour a day walking or doing the elliptical and I am eating about 1500 calories a day.

don't wait another day…claim it TODAY!

  14. I bought a Gowear fit instead of a Body Bugg they are cheaper and the software is much more user friendly. They are both made by the same company. I got both units the (upper arm part and the Digital read our) for 174.00 from this also came with a 3 months subscription. This one also monitors your sleep to see if you are getting good REM sleep. The online subscription is also way cheaper. check it out. When you buy buy it from and watch the sales.

  15. bl8 starts filming this week. Also..can u belive..fell down stairs on sat (day contestants flew back to LA) and found out tonight…BROKE ankle… it's almost funny!! it's all good. God is in control! still focusing on diet and after I see the podietrist on Wed, will plan a course of action for working out again….lol… yup… almost funny. not in a ton of pain, though, which is nice!

  16. Hey Abitbummed;

Good thing you're at home or Jillian could be making you carry her on your back while your ankle is broken… Yes GOD IS IN CONTROL! Prayers with you all!

  17. Yup BL 8 starts filming this week….In fact, the contestants were doing photos today.

  18. Well, my partner & I didn’t make the show as many thousands of us didn’t. It breaks my heart, but it’s ok. Below is a link to my video application… this took alot of “balls” to do (so to speak)…so I figured I should share it. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did filming it

  20. RE: abitbummed Says: "NOW CASTING THE BIGGEST LOSER SEASON 9!"

Anyone want to get married? I have a brother who's available, that I can put up for the cause and believe me; he would actually jump at the opportunity. We could then be a “FAMILY MEMBER TEAM” (Sister-In-Laws) as required for Season 9. lol I mean, really, think about it. NO COST INVOLVED! I won’t even charge you. I could pay you to take him.

Obviously and unfortunately, I'm only kidding. Heck, you might just be able to convince me to do it though.

Never mind him, I just thought of probably the greatest scenario. Many posters have talked about having such a great story to bring to the show. This could be the perfect story. You and I get married to each other just to qualify and go on the show. Male or Female (although, I do not believe in it) considered. Not prejudice, just not for me. Although, my state requires residency to partake in a same-sex marriage, we’d be all set. After the show’s finished filming, we get divorced. Is anyone up for it? Don’t all jump at once?

Casting calls being held at my home on Saturday and Sunday 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM:
Please verify my picture is of interest to you 1st.
    Insulters need not apply.

Set your GPS’s and it will take you right to me.

  21. McFatty,
I agree that if the weight limit is a problem, they should have said that. I know you wouldn't have been treated like that in my gym. I hope you can feel more comfortable in the new place.

Too bad they're not casting for trainers again for season 9.

  22. well i get off work this morning and hop on the site to find out they are doing a couples show again. This really sucks. I'm out before I can even begin. Talk about a good day going bad QUICK! This sucks so hard!

  23. T30…..PLEASE do NOT wait around for season 10……what if it's another couples/family edition? Then what?? This goes for everyone out there. Don't go waiting around for something that may never happen. Start NOW!! Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today! You know if you start losing weight now and want to apply for BL, then go for it. But PLEASE don't wait around for the show. There are thousands of people who apply every year. Is there a chance you'll make it? Yeah, but that's a VERY small chance.

Working out is GREAT…..I LOVE it now. I never thought I would say that, but I do. It's a great feeling when you leave the gym knowing you had just worked out.

You are worth it and it doesn't hurt to take 30-60 mins out of your day to workout.

  24. I do not know where to begin. Did Holland post the "do's and don'ts" for videos yet? I have already made 3 videos, so I must be doing something wrong.
Please respond if Holland posted those tips.

  25. chinadolls2 –

Holland has not posted the video tips yet, but I must point out that I am assuming from your excitement and knowledge that casting has begun, you also know they will only be accepting "family member teams of 2". Sorry to have to tell you that (if you hadn't already known), but you can read all about it at

If you are indeed qualified and are going to apply, GOOD LUCK. We need someone to get in to represent the McNutty's.

    Have a great day.

I have plenty of 100+lb people to choose from that actually would be great… not one is willing to leave their job to do it!

My sister is perfect in every way and INSISTS she couldn't leave her job. Couldn't they have a season with family members where one stays home and one does it on the ranch?!!!

  27. I hate to sound like a downer, but I bet they have season 9 half cast based on season 8 applicants. At my casting call EVERYONE was with a partner!

Do you think that happens? You hear stories about past applicants getting a call for a season they didn't necessarily apply for… (Michelle had to drum-up a partner).

  28. just an FYI… there is a weekly stipend for each week on the ranch…I think after taxes it is just above 500.00.

  29. enought to help w/ bills while you're not able to be at your job, which I think is quite thoughtful.

  30. notgivinguphopetoloseweight

Its not that we are waiting for the biggest loser to lose weight. We all know we can do it on our own. Its just that at 3 lbs a week it will take me 5 years to lose what I have on me. I am sure T30 is just saying that he/she is bummed. I know I think it sucks because I know no one in my family would even consider trying out. I put myself out there and I did not make the cut for season 8.

Yes everyone can do it on there own but some of us do not have the time nor money nor knowledge to do it. I know I have none of these. If I was able to get on the show none of this would be an issue.

ollie, I am sure they do have most of the people they want already picked out. Many people have said that in 1-1's for season 8 they asked if they had a family member they could bring. And during the last casting they also told us all that they were casting for seasons 8 and 9.

The thing that sucks is that they are casting for ratings and not to really help people out. They are going to get another season like season 7 where Ron and Mike were just playing the game. Back stabbing lying and just down right being dishonest. If thats what they want then they can have it. I need help not head games by the producers the contestants and a trainer that works them so hard that they are breaking bones (Laura) and getting hurt(Mike).

I would go on the show even if there was no big amount of cash at the end.

  31. don't have time? You need to make time for yourself. As for knowledge, there is so much out there via books, Internet, etc. It just so happens that I'm following the Curves books (which is a big help)….It gives me a daily menu to follow, allowed subsitutions and there are free foods. It's hard, but not extremly hard to follow a 1200 calorie diet. Plus I'm taking the Curves multivitamin and I have the BL protein shake. Once I'm done with this protein shake, I'm going to get the Curves shake again. This is all coming from a person who is just living on unemployment and fighting to get her last paycheck from pay period Dec. 20 to Jan 2.

  32. money, work, money, money, Family to feed VS books curves vitamins protein shakes. My family will always be first.

  33. Also, why do you think at the very bottom of the page it states:
"* If you do not have a partner you may audition on your own"

Is it to get us singles hopes up? I mean why say that if they know they want families?

  34. Hmmm???? –

I would love to know the answer to that too.

I wonder if we'll find out BEFORE we waste our time standing in line at a casting call or making the videos, etc.

    Thanks for posting that question.

  35. I say if you want to try out, do it and if they like you they'll make it work.

Annoyed…..Family comes first for me too. However, I need to put myself first and get healthy. So I'll do whatever it takes…reading books, taking vitamins and protein shakes….cuz they DO work. The last time I was at Curves, I lost 12 lbs and 12 inches in 6 weeks.

  36. hey yall how ya'll been?

  38. Man oh man I'm bummed!

There's only one person in my family who is fat like me and I don't know if he would consider leaving work and his family to do this. We would definitely have a great story though.

    Hope ya'll are doing great!

  39. Hmmm???? –

I was just thinking, maybe they have no intention of using the individual tapes they receive for S9, but instead will save them to get a head start on S10 (like people are saying they were collecting applicants for S8 and S9 at the time of S8 casting).

  41. disappointed – that could be the case. I was thinking that if they really loved you they would use you and pair you up with a stranger like they did in Season 6 (or whatever season that was where they did that) but that was just a couples season not a couples family season. And just imagine what the odds would be for that! I mean it's hard enough if you do meet the situation they are casting for you know? Even if you are great and do have a family member to audition with you, your chances are still slim to none. To think "I'll apply and if they love me enough they'll make it work" your chances would be even slimmer!

And I guess there's always the chance that they won't get enough applicants that they like who are family couples and switch to just couples or individuals. I just don't see that happening with the popularity of the show and the 100,000's still applying every season.

You'd think they'd have enough from Season 8 casting to cast 3 or 4 seasons – LOL!

  42. Did they ever let America vote before for who will make it to the Ranch like they did last night? I've only watched about 3 seasons and I don't ever remember that?

Anyway, I thought it was annoying…..either one of those women would have been great. Why not just pick one and be done with it as opposed to making them get that far, sharing their story with millions of people, getting to work out with Bob and Jillian and then saying "oh – America didn't like you enough – bye"….that'd be so hard! I guess it would be good motivation still though at home because you know they'll probably check in with the woman who didn't make it.

And do you think they haven't started taping for Season 8 yet? I thought that started last week….but I guess not if they are still picking contestants.
