Week 14 challenge results!

tending-the-temple-new-year

Fourteen weeks into this thing and you guys are still going strong!  The clock is ticking on the competition, though – just four weeks left until May 12th!  We had 23 people reporting in this week (if you’re late, it’s okay, still send it on in!) – you guys are doing amazing!

Sandra C is our Biggest Loser of the week with a 2.16% loss!  Amazing!  Close behind, with a 2.08% is Leisia J!  You two are incredible!  Our 1% Hall of Fame this week includes (in no particular order) Kim L, Amanda K, Michael C, Jodi B and Linda C!  And just for fun, I have three honorable mentions this week that came really close to hitting 1%: Cheryll, Alex J and Jay P!

Keep it up guys!  You’re all doing incredible!  We’ve just got a handful of weeks left – you’re on your way to finishing strong!

  2. Way to go Kim!!! 🙂 That is great….I know you must be glowing with anticipation.

I needed to be on that list this week so bad…I was beginning to get tired (okay, the word is maybe weak). So, I am fired up and ready to go for more now. 🙂

  6. I think (just guessing) Matt does this consecutive to each season of Biggest Loser. It runs the same weeks of the show. There are four weeks left in this competition and I have no idea when the next season of Biggest Loser starts. But I will say that this competition with the message boards and all the support has been a great thing for me. I hope you do join in the next one (I don't know if it might be too late for this one). This has really changed my life. 🙂

  7. Congrats this week everyone! I lost another 3 pounds. I am just so proud of all of us, especially the 25 or so who are still in this. Loosing weight is not easy, but we are all pushing though. I made it into the 250's this week and I am so excited to see that number again!

Kim: Congratulations on the 50 lb. lost mark! That is awesome! I'm 12 pounds away and I can't wait to get there!

My new HRM (Polar FT60) came in the mail a few days ago and that is the coolest toy I have ever owned! I had so much fun at the gym last night using it! I had been counting calories burned by what the treadmill said, but that was actually about 100 calories lower then what my HRM said. According to my personal trainer friend, they watch should be very accurate because it takes into consideration my fitness level (oxygen in) as well as my actually heartrate from my heart and not my hands. Anyway, if you have a little extra money (maybe from your tax check – that's what I used) I would invest in one!

Trauma Mama: I wish we could start up another challenge as soon as this one ends because it has been a huge motivator for me. I wonder if we could find another one around somewhere for the summer. I'll look around online and see what I can find and I'll let you know.

  8. If Matt doesn't start one until the next ssn starts…perhaps I will consider starting one on my blog. I Know it helps me to have the accountibility…and while I do have my "real life" friends who I send my weigh ins to every week…it is good t chat with others who are actually losing as well….they are already and have always been athletic/fit…etc. I wouldn't be able to do the prizes he does….but I should be able to come up with something!

Matt, can you let us know if you will be running a challenge? If not, then I will want to start thinking/planning/plotting!

  9. I'm still in it, but I'm not sending in my weight each week. I'm just going to do one at the end. I just had ankle surgery yesterday (Thursday the 16th) and I cannot exersize from the waist down for six to eight weeks. So cardio is out. I'm going to do upper body strength but I have to wait a week. Can't put any weight on my foot at all and I'm on crutches for a couple weeks. The surgery was much more complicated than they first thought. I had to have my tibia bone shaved down, my ankle bone too. And there was a piece of my tibia broken off and floating in my ankle so they got that too. Ug. But I tell you God literally is doing a miracle. Do you guys know I am in NOOOOO pain what so ever? I'm not even on pain killers because they make me naucious! I can't believe it and the Dr. cannot either. I mean it, no pain at all. It's crazy.

  10. Wow Rebecca…No pain that is great! Gosh, don't let the inability to work out get you too down…focus on what you can do and know that you are doing the best you can….and be ready to bounce back when youa re all healed!
