Randomosity

I’m starting to feel like I can’t call myself a blogger … my posts have been so far and few between! Here are a few little random updates and excuses …

  • Between the Proof of Your Love tour and the Watoto Children’s Choir, there were a couple major events on my plate on top of my regular routine that really seemed to dominate my fall. They were both amazing, but I’m glad they’re behind me!
  • I’ve been working on a book that will be coming out with Simply Youth Ministry this spring. Needless to say, I’m very excited to have my own title (I’ve contributed chapters to other works)! Can’t wait to let you all know more about it in the months to come.
  • Micah received so many giftcards from his friends at his birthday party he was able to get an iPod Touch. Seriously? When I turned 11 I think I got some Star Wars figures and Transformers! Times have changed …
  • Our kids are getting older. Between Micah’s chess team, Caleb’s karate, and their various turns with soccer and swimming, it feels like we’re always running someone somewhere. I think our lives will spin completely out of control once we have kids in middle school (next year!) and high school. Sheesh!
  • I’ve been reading my sons the sixth Narnia book, ‘The Magicians Nephew.’ In my opinion, it and ‘the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’ are the best in the series. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while!
  • I started slowly picking my way through a crate full of old home movies, importing them onto our computer and trying to preserve them. This is time consuming … and a BIG trip down memory lane. I’m going to need some more hard drives …
  • I have a hot date with Heather tonight to see two remastered Star Trek the Next Generation episodes on the big screen. Oh yeah, it’s gonna be awesome.

That’s all I got for now …

  1. I am excited about your book…it’s good you are busy with things that count..family, ministry, all wrapped in the red for the blood of Jesus. Love seeing your pictures on fb…would love to see you and family in person, whose knows someday it may happen but for now will lift you up in prayer as you go about God’s busniness. Blessings

  2. Thanks, I’m excited about it.. I used to have a column for several years called Tending the Temple … it’s kind of along those same lines, but with the benefit of a few more years experience and thought. Getting published has been a lifelong dream, so I’m excited to finally take the plunge.
