My lament

Yeah, that’s an overly dramatic title for a blog entry, but I’m a melodramatic kind of guy.

Monday night I managed to fall and twist my ankle so bad that I ended up in the emergency room for a few hours.  It’s not actually broken, but it’s swollen like you wouldn’t believe.  Consequently I’m stuck in an air cast and walking with crutches for a while.  It’s mostly embarrassing because if I had been doing something cool it would be brag worthy.  You know, like I was rock wall climbing and fell thirty feet and the rope snapped and I managed to crawl away with just a hurt ankle.  That’s cool and manly.

However, I was walking to my car in the church parking lot and stumbled on a bit of uneven pavement.  Yup, I tripped on almost nothing and ended up in the ER.  Then I woke up today with some sort of flu bug or cold or something.  Bizarre.  If anything else happens, I’m going to go hide in a bunker.

  2. All I can come up with is……… Could be worse……….
You know, you could have been playing Barbie with one of the Sunday school kids and hurt your self trying to catch the doll as it fell to the floor…………OR…………………….Hurt your ankle when the heel broke off your new pumps 😉

Like I said….. could have been worse.

Take care and hope you feel better soon!

  6. I feel your pain….April 24th, I was walking through the parking lot at work at break time (no pun intended) and I really don't know what happened, but I ended up falling and fracturing my ankle, tibia and fibula…had surgery that same night (a plate and some screws).

The injury was bad enough, but not having some sort of cool story to go with it makes it just that much worse 😉

I have an aircast too, but no crutches, instead I get to use a walker.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  7. […] how I fell over nothing and hurt my ankle to no end, but didn’t actually do anything to it here.  I have to admit, I was a little frustrated that I hadn’t broken, fractured or ripped […]
