We had our final weigh in this morning for our twelve week Biggest Loser: New Year’s Challenge, and the results were stunning! I just finished doing the math, and including some who didn’t make it this morning (so it was based on their last weekly weigh in), the total lost by 42 individuals came to 640 pounds! Amazing! I definitely think it was our best session yet, with the best turnout, highest level of participation (we had a solid core that didn’t miss a single meeting), and the best friendly rivalry (nothing like competition to motivate)!
Here is the breakdown …
With a total loss of 58 pounds, Tom D. took the men’s title and the $350 prize. Michael M. was right behind him with 57 lbs lost, but Tom beat him with his percentage loss (22.1% vs. Mike’s 16.3%). For the women, Kristina B. blew everyone away with her 51.8 pound loss, translating to a 16.16% drop – certainly enough to have earned her $350 prize! The three of them were definitely rock stars of weight loss! Finally, the third prize handed out today was for the team of three with the highest combined weight loss. Accountability and support are absolutely critical, and we had some real contenders for the prize. Michael M., Karen G., and Jessica G., weighed in with a combined 98.4 pounds lost with a total percentage of 13.17% lost as a team – which gave them first place and $350 to split! What really impressed me, though, was that there were three other teams with combined weight loss of over 10%! These guys really rallied together and made the time count!
