I hope you can all take some time this holiday to reflect on the true reason we celebrate Christmas, God giving the ultimate gift of all time: a way for us to have a relationship with Him at no cost to us. It’s easy in all the frenzy of getting gifts for others, making our own wishlists, going here and there and all the other Christmas madness to lose sight of what actually matters. Don’t let that happen to you!
We had a blessed day. It was SO chaotic, especially driving FOUR hours to see family for five hours and the FOUR hour drive back…. with three children that are 5, 3, and 2! OY.. did you get that all? But I'm very proud of us for standing up for something. This year we asked to be taken out of the Christmas name drawing from now on. It's gotten to be a "gift" thing and a materialistic thing and we stood up to our family and said "Christmas isn't about gifts, it's about our Savior! And you know what? Everyone agreed and there were several that were VERY happy we did it first because they wanted to also! So I'm proud of us. :o)
