Time for the Student Quest Sunday recap for August, 17th, 2025!
I (McNutt) was teaching this week in the adult education Summer Series so I wasn’t in Student Quest; Melissa, Matt, Eden and Nathan Keeler ran the show! It was also Danielle’s last Sunday as the summer intern; we had an amazing summer program with her!
We had a few announcements/reminders:
- Small Groups are kicking off with our Block Parties on August 27th (Middle School) and August 28th (High School), 6:30-8:00pm.
- The Fall Retreats are coming! The high school retreat is September 5-7, the middle school retreat is September 19-21. You can register for one or both retreats here.
- Baptisms on the Retreats: students who want to be baptized on their fall retreat need to let us know ahead of time. Send me an email or call the church office so we can make it happen; families of students being baptized are invited to come to the retreat on Sunday morning if they want to be there for it!
Matt S taught our high school students this week, Nathan K taught middle school: The topic for both groups was Sadness vs Shame. A follow-up question for your kids that attended is: When you hear that God is “close to the brokenhearted,” how does that make you feel about sharing your own sadness and shame with God?
