Time for the Student Quest Sunday recap for June 28th, 2026! We played Last One Standing Summer, a summer themed game I created that involves two students standing up front and facing off over a question. We had several students that were unable to come to our Student Missions Report Sunday share about their mission trips and what God taught them; you can find the video of them at the bottom of this post. For our teaching time, we concluded our three weeks in the book of Ezekiel.
We had a few announcements/reminders:

This week we finished our series in Ezekiel with one of the most famous passages in the book: the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37). After Jerusalem was destroyed and the people felt completely hopeless, like a valley of scattered, dried-out bones, God showed Ezekiel a vision of those bones coming back to life, rebuilt and filled with His Spirit. It was God’s promise that even after the worst had happened, He would bring His people back to life.
Three big ideas came out of it: God is the God of restoration, bringing people back to Him is who He is; God always makes a way back, no matter how far someone has gone, it’s never too late to turn to Him; and God lives in us through the Spirit, when we follow God, His Holy Spirit lives in us, guiding us every day. We challenged students to ask, “God, where is your Spirit leading me?” To get specific about one nudge they’ve been ignoring, write it down, and act on it this week. Here are some follow up questions you can ask your student(s):
- The dry bones were a picture of feeling completely hopeless, like it was too late. Have you ever felt like a situation was beyond fixing? What helped or would help?
- One big idea was that it’s never too late to turn back to God, no matter what. Is that easy or hard for you to believe? Why?
- If you asked God “Where is your Spirit leading me?” Is there a nudge you’ve been feeling lately? Something to apologize for, a habit to break, or someone you should reach out to?
