Time for the Student Quest Sunday recap for August 9th, 2026! I was in the main service preaching, so I’m not sure what the ice breaker was. Our teaching time was the sixth week of our six week HABITS series, taught by Melissa Stein.
We had a few announcements/reminders:
- Parking Lot Movie Night this Wednesday: 6-12 grade, free, 8-10pm, in the church parking lot. Bring an FM radio, a lawn chair, and your favorite movie snacks for a tun time under the stars!
- The Fall Retreats are coming! Register by August 30th. The high school retreat is September 11-13, the middle school retreat is September 25-27. Click here to get all the information and sign up.
- Download our app! It has our event calendar, updates, photos, social links, podcast feed, video feed, and more! Find it on the Apple app store and Google Play store!
- Construction is continuing. Students can get to the Sunday student hour and other student events through the main entrance. Just follow the signs!
This week we were in the final week of HABITS, a series on spiritual disciplines. Melissa Stein taught. This week’s letter was S for Sacraments, covering baptism and communion. The big idea was baptism and communion are ways to honor and celebrate what Jesus has done in our lives. Here is a follow up question you can ask your student(s):
- What do these sacraments mean to you personally, and how do they deepen your faith?
