We had a tornado warning yesterday. The stormed rolled through. It was kind of wild for a little while.
Which feels kind of like life at the moment. It’s a real whirlwind.
Caleb is in his last year at Salisbury. Noah is in his final year of culinary school. Zach is in his senior year of high school. We’re going to be juggling three different graduations at the end of this school year which feels absolutely wild! At the pace this year has been already, I’m sure it’s all going to go by faster than we expect or want. Caleb and Noah are both already thinking through what they need to do to land jobs in the careers they want after graduation, Zach is deep in college considerations.
The church is well into construction as we remodel and build out pretty much everything other than our sanctuary. We demolished our offices a month and a half ago with the expectation that we could be in our new offices a few weeks later. Now it’s looking like it will be more like mid-September … there’s nothing quite like operating out of my backpack every day. Usually it’s not a problem, but I’m starting to feel the pinch of not being able to access things I had packed away from my office that I wouldn’t need for a few weeks … but two to three months? Ug. It will be exciting to get into the new space, though!
My impatience has always been challenged by wanting to do so much more than I have time for. Being strategic with what I go after, the projects I say yes to, the ones I turn down – it’s a juggling act. This fall looks to be our biggest one yet with the student ministry at my church, which is exciting but also a big responsibility. We have more volunteer leaders than we’ve ever had before gearing up for what will most likely be our biggest year of small groups we’ve seen. Right now we’re locked in on planning our fall retreats and kicking off small groups well in a couple weeks. I’m excited to see what God will do this year!
Life is a whirlwind! But it’s a fun whirlwind to be in!
