Weigh in day!

tending-the-temple-new-year

It’s Tuesday!  Time to weigh yourself and get the numbers to me!  Just a quick clarification … since there are so many of you, I’m keeping track of you all on a spreadsheet by your last names (no, I won’t post ’em), but if you could include in your email to me your first and last name, and current weight (not just pounds lost/gained), it will go a lot quicker on my end!  Thanks, guys!

Check back on Wednesday and I’ll post the Biggest Loser of the week, and the hall of fame superstars – anyone who lost 1% or more in the space of just a week, always an impressive feat!  You guys rock!  Keep it up!

  1. Matt- I'm so frustrated..I busted my butt exercising 4 times one hour each time and I stayed 110 percent on the eating plan watching every single calorie staying within 1200-1300 per day…I only lost 2.5#'s this week. I am so upset and am stuck in an airport again today and want to eat everything.

    Any suggestions or thoughts?

  2. Lisa you did great. I did an hour of cardio EVERY stinking day and did not loose a single pound. Did not gain either…just stayed the same. Did good eating till yesterday when I ate way under (Like under 900 calories).

  3. Ya that's a good amount of weight. I'm ticked at the scale this morning. How can I be a pound MORE than I was last night??? I mean come on I was curious and weight in last night after a full day!! Sheesh. I don't get it. I'm not sending my weight in until tonight just in case it does it again. Sheesh… I think my scale has a death wish cause I'm about ready to throw the darn thing out the window!

  5. Lisa Janelle, maybe next week will be a real good loss for you. I hate that everyone is so upset about the weigh-in results….I am so used to you-guys being really upbeat. Don't give up- next week has to be better. We are changing our lives here and that is something that needs time. It will be worth a bad week here or a bad week there when we get to our goals. As long as we are not gaining that is great….I think most of us already feel better physically. It will happen!

  6. Good Morning all. I weighed in this morning and lost the 1.6 that I had lost when I weighed in Saturday morning. I am kind of bummed, cause I just started exercising more this week too. But I guess a loss is better than a gain. Even if it is only 1.6. I hope next week brings bigger numbers for me.

  7. Whew you guys!!!!! Don't get bummed, sometimes it takes while for the scale to catch up to what you are doing? Continue moving forward and don't get discouraged. Remember the scale is only one way to measure your progress. Don't forget about the .3 of a lb that was lost last week, or that you maintained and didnt't gain, or that your clothes are fitting a littler loser, or that you skin is glowing etc, etc, etc. It's a great thing to lost fat because that way you are moving to a size healthier. How else are you all measuring your success when you don't see it on the scale??? All that exercising will catch up with the scale just keep pushing forward, it will register and stay upbeat, that also plays an important part in the weight loss journey. HEEEEEEEEY Rebecca, you know how this works, you have some great weeks, good week, as so on. The time is going to pass anyway and it is good to see that you all are putting it to good use. Congrats to everyone, you've made it through another week-Sounds like this week for some was like the woman is Dr. H book that maintained, but she hung on in there and she had several weeks of losses after that. Hang in you guys….

  9. Hi EVERYONE!

Thank you ALL! I just arrived in Indianapolis from Maine…man it took EVERY bit of my strength NOT to eat the readily available JUNK at the airport…. I DID IT! I actually ate an ORANGE on the Plane – I can't believe it – I am so proud of myself – in the terminal I wanted to eat one of those HUGE chocolate muffins but instead I treated myself with a bottle of Diet Pepsi!

So I arrived in my hotel room and made a decision I was NOT going to throw in the towel…like have done hundreds of times in my past…sooo GUESS WHAT ??? I got changed and went to the hotel gym…..I just did 60 minutes on the recumbant bike! I feel sooo much better! 3 more days in a hotel and at a conference trying to eat the best I can with the items they provide. Lord give me strength!

We can do this if we don't give up! It may come off 1# at a time but it WILL come off!

  10. Lisa you are awesome. Sooo proud of you. I used to fly for a job and I know how extremely hard it is to resist that stuff when crunched for time. Planning is the key. Way to make use of the exercise room. Just do the best you can on food. As long as at the end of the day you know you did your best and couldn't do better, that is what counts. You will do gerat.

  12. Oh my gosh Lisa I can't believe you went to a hotel gym! That's incredible!! When I flew back from LA in December I ended up eating at TCBY yogurt! But my stomach was upset and I hadn't eaten anything all day so I knew it would be okay. Still I don't think I'd use a hotel gym…I'm too self conscience so WAY TO GO!!!!

  13. Well my trainer is sick tonight so I had to do it on my own tonight, no one to kick my butt. I told him I would be at the gym tonight without him because I was pissed off. So I went did 3 sets of leg extensions and then and hour on the arc trainer, then 3 sets of triceps extensions (gotta git rid of the flabby).

Although I started off down because of the scale not moving I did find something good. I do weekly measurements and two of areas went down. One by 1/2 an inch and one by a whole inch….so at least that gave me some more hope.

  14. Hi Rebecca – – I went last week and then again today….I told myself that I don't know these people…I put on my headphones and watch tv – – I don't watch or look at anyone else at all… I totally ignore them completely! I found if I don't look at them or watch them I don't compare myself to anyone anymore. I still have to FIGHT to walk down the hotel halls and to the gym but once I'm in there I'm fine now!

You should really try it – – you will feel so empowered! It's all about you and NOT other people.

Thankful for everyone here on line!

  15. Isn't it funny how us women (I dont know how men are) compare ourselves to other women? I don't know about you guys but seriously I sound rediculous in my brain. Ok I'm married to a MAN.. remember that, a MAN lol, and I still say "Dang she has a nice tushy" or "I wish my you know what's could look like that" or what ever. I'm terrible in my thought process but I can't help it! I hope when I get to my goal weight and/or size I won't do that as much or at all. :o( Am I wierd?

  17. OMG! Today I started jogging on the treadmill. I am ofcourse having to alternate between walking and jogging at this point but that is okay. I didn't think I would ever be able to jog on it….and I am not even holding on now. At first I couldn't even let go when I was walking. This is too cool!

  20. Lisa J, hey, don't beat yourself up over 2.5 lbs – that's GREAT weight loss for a woman. Even women on the Biggest Loser ranch average 3-5 lbs a week, and that's working out 6-8 hours a day. Keep in mind, the show has some 'weeks' that are as long as 12-14 days, so when you see a woman drop significantly higher than that 3-5 lbs, than you know it was one of those loooong weeks. I always encourage women to shoot for 1-2 lbs a week, and men 2-3 lbs a week. If you're hitting that, you're doing great … if you've lost more, you're a superstar!

Even in my own weight loss, I know people like to focus on the 8-10 lbs a week I was losing the first couple months at home, but that was when I was over 300 lbs, exercising hard 2.5 hours a day, and counting calories like crazy, and my results were abnormal even for the other Biggest Loser contestants at home or on the ranch. But once I was under about 285 lbs, I had to kill myself to lose 5 lbs a week.

So be encouraged, you're doing great! It didn't come on over night and it's not going to go away over night … but it will go away!
