Sunday Recap | October 4

Time for the Student Quest Sunday recap for October 4th, 2026! It was the second week we were all combined in the Loft while adult classes use the gym … I dream of a day when construction is finished! We played a game I made featuring one of our students that asked me earlier this week if she could play the game on Sunday. I’m not sure that’s what she meant! Our teaching time continued a three week series in Titus that I am teaching.

We had a few announcements/reminders:

  • Student Quest is temporarily combined in the Loft while construction displaces Adult Christian Ed into the gym.
  • Download our app! It has our event calendar, updates, photos, social links, podcast feed, video feed, and more! Find it on the Apple app store and Google Play store!
  • Construction is continuing. Students can get to the Sunday student hour and other student events through the main entrance. Just follow the signs!

This week we looked at Titus 2, where Paul tells Titus to “promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching” (Titus 2:1). Paul wanted the believers in Crete, old and young alike, to stand out with lives that point people to Jesus. We also took an honest look at some of the harder verses in this chapter, including the ones about submission and slavery, and talked about how they’ve been misused and what Paul was actually saying to the people of his day. Our big idea was simple: our lives need to reflect Jesus. Students were challenged to do that in two ways: be wise in their choices, and be devoted to God by spending time with Him every day, even if it starts with just five minutes. Here are some follow up question you can ask your student(s):

  • Where do you think it’s hardest to stand out for Jesus: school, your team, your friend group, online?
  • If someone watched how you lived for a week, what would they learn about Jesus from you?
  • What’s one thing you love so much you know everything about it? What would it look like to be that devoted to God, and could we try five minutes a day together?
