    Wahhhhooo!!!
    Thanks Matthew!!!

  3. This is exciting seeing everyone still losing weight! Good job!

  4. Great job everyone! I am considering a 8 week training class.. Not sure yet through.

  5. congrats everyone — i just cant seem to get above 1% each week — i did it before but i havent been able too — just gets depressing —

i havent been able to work out as much because my neck hurts and my shoulder blade so i done something to it a week ago — sure henders the working out process when you pull/hurt something — we had a competition for the last 6 weeks at the gym called "Dare to Be Lean" and for that 6 weeks I lost 16 lb and a whopping 18" – I won in the womens category for most inches but another lady won the weight with a 16.1 — i couldnt believe it — lost it by a .1 — but its all good — i also lost 2 sizes in the process — it was a great thing to do —

i feel like im slowing down with this challenge though — but im trying to hang in there — would love to see more post from peeps that in he competition but i understand the time issue —

i cant get on here as much as i would like either — i wish everyone the best of luck and keep on trucking — we will all get there —

was wondering where everyone is getting their recipe ideas and if its not too much trouble —

what is some of you guys favorites that are helping you and your family in the competition and the transitions to eating right for everyone? i will come back and post some of mine when i get a chance — got to go back to work for little while

  6. Sandra, I like the recipes that I find on Sparkrecipes.com … that website has really been a great help to me during this challenge.

Woo Hoo….I love to be on that 1% list. 🙂 I really am now to the point where I don't get upset when I don't lose 1% in a week but it sure is nice when I manage to. I am so comfortable with myself now. I am far from my goal weight but I just feel so much better and I can't even imagine how I will feel when I reach my goal. I have lost 21 pounds in this nine weeks! That may not sound like alot to some people but it has made an amazing difference in how I feel in general and also how I feel about myself.

We are doing this!!! Go Teal Team….don't stop now!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. so i've been lurking for the last nine weeks, and I'm still hovering around 5lbs lost, but I'm going to try to kick it in high gear now…got encouraged by everyone at the open casting call last weekend. Let's all do this together!

  8. I'm with ya Matt!!!

  9. Welcome out of Lurkville Matt!!! You can do this!!!

Congrats everyone on yoru weight loss…I still dont know how I did this week…will find out tomorrow…so next Tuesday I better be on at least the 1 % roll or else I got some problems!!!

In other news…I am ruined for cheap chocolate. On V-Day, a friend gave me some Godiva dark chocoalte pearls…totally cheap in calories…and completely satisfies teh craving. Well I am out of them…and I want chocolate. I found som ein thehosue…took one bite…and threw the rest out. I want my good stuff….not the cheap ordinary stuff. I am partly thankful to him…and pratly angry with him. I am ruined! 🙂

  10. Wow, I think the aliens have abducted everyone. It is so quiet on here. 🙂

  11. Scared to death but today is my first workout with Crossfit Omaha! Last week I worked our four times with a personal trainer…so tonight it's the class baby! I can't wait. Scared but can't wait.

    Rebecca

  12. Good Luck Rebecca.. tonight is my first class with a personal trainer.. I am a bit freaked but I know it needs to be done.

  13. I am getting worried about everyone. When this challenge first started someone was always posting on here but now it is so seldom. I hope everyone isn't giving up. I have to say that when there was more activity on the message board I was losing weight alot better. This support has meant alot to me. I hope you-guys are still hanging in there.

  14. Hi Everyone,

Sorry Alex and I have been off line for a few weeks….we are still working on losing everyday….we hit a plateau and stayed the same for 2 weeks….

Good news though I lost 21/2 this week! YEAH

    Have a great week everyone!

Karla B – how are you doing?

    Lisa J

  15. Congrats Lisa J! Those plateaus are the worst aren't they… glad to see that you got through it.

  16. What happened to his WI post?? I am doing good.. hanging in there. My food hasn't been that great but I started my new class this week and let me just say typing this HURTS! Not sure I am going tonight. I have to bowl tomorrow night and would like to acutally lift the ball or I might have to granny style it. LOL I forgot to WI this week so I won't have results for me unti lnext week but I think I did gain… But this class is kicking my butt so I hope to have a loss this week.

  17. I think a lot of people have dropped off. It was that way last time too but this time it's a lot worse. Everyone needs one another so don't quit! If you have, get back on the wagon with us.

    Rebecca

  18. I have not quit…but I did gain for the first time in 09. Not jsut a non-loss, but a gain! But I own it. I know what I did and did not do. I cannot blame it on water retention or anything else. My choices clearly have consequences.

I have been quieter here…but not quiet…jsut been writing in my blog and keeping up with that end.

  19. I am so glad you-guys spoke up… I was really worrying.

I didn't lose any weight this week. I have been so busy that I haven't had my workout time lately. I have been doing fine on eating right I just need to find a way to get the workouts in on these crazy busy days.

  20. I also think that this challenge is far longer than the last one…mid-Sept to Mid-Dec last one…thiws one is Mid-Jan to mid-May…2 more months guys to the end of this challenge…frankly I am tired…not giving up…but tired

  21. It's also hard to find recent posts when the "applying to biggest loser" thread is so dominating!

I'm hangin in right now, but I will admit that I have lost some motivation that I had before.

  22. I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future. Thank you

  23. Matt doesn't update like he used to. I think the last baby put him over the daddy edge! LOL

  24. Hey guys…I just got back from vacation and decided not to weigh-in this week. I'm sure that I gained a pound or two. I've missed you guys. But I'm still with you. Keep up the great work everyone.

  25. I am definetley sticking with it this time. I may be losing it slowly but that is the best way to do it anyway. I have made a definant change in mine and my family's lifestyle when it comes to eating and staying active and I plan to stick with it. At this point all of it just normal to me now so I feel like I will be successful in my weight loss.

I have been a little down because people seem to be not so into the message board anymore and even Matt has been slow….but I know that everyone that is still in this competition is busy with their lives. I just hope everyone is still hanging in there because this can be done. I know now that it is not out of reach.

  26. I promise to get on here more!!!!

  27. Very nice information. Thanks for this.

  28. It's thursday and no weigh in thread and no results thread. I think that's why people don't bother to post much. When you come to the website, it seems like the challenge isn't even going on anymore! Matthew got too busy to run it.

  29. I am not sure what happened to the results post! I sent him a message via Facebook..so I hope we see it today.

How is everyone doing today? What are you gonna do today to make it a good healthy day?

  30. Yuk!!! Now I have the flu….I have been taking care of my daughter and husband all week (they have it) thinking that maybe I was going to be lucky and not get it. No such luck, I woke up feeling terrible and I have a fever going to. I am going to do everything I can to stay on track but this is going to make it very hard for me to do that.

  31. I'm still here, plugging along! I'm still doing well on the weight lose journey. I only lost .5 last week, but this week I lost 4 pounds. I'm not so sure how good this week is going to be since I was out of town the last two days and haven't exercised at all this week and my brother is in town for the weekend, so that doesn't leave much time for exercise. I have learned, however that you still have to live your life. If you need to step off a tad for a few days or a week, don't just give up and eat whatever you want. Be conscious of what you are eating, but enjoy yourself.

I have been looking for the weigh in and results posts the past few days and I hope Matthew and his family are ok. It isn't like him to not put up those two blogs.

I bet there are still at least half of us in the competition. We've just been a little quite. I know I'm not giving up and I hope you guys aren't either!

  32. Sorry Leisia! That sounds like no fun.
I'm going to try to get to the gym today and drink all my water.

  33. Leisa I hope you feel better soon. No fun at all!

I did sent Matt an email via Facebook asking when the results would be posted so hang on guys.

  34. Maybe all he wanted was ten thousand comments and now he's done lol

  35. I think I saw something from him on FB about computer troubles…be patient guys…Matt won't jsut leave us hanging without a reason…

  36. Jodi aka The Karate Avatar
    Jodi aka The Karate

Not matter what the results are keep pluggin' along guys.
    Don't surrender to temptations!!
Be prepared and pack a snack!!!
Keep on truckin' like you're TBL this week!!!:0)

Matt is a hubby, dad of 4, youth pastor to many and weightloss guru to us. He'll post!!!

  37. I agree…there has to be something going on. Matt wouldn't just leave us hangin'. I hope it is just computer problems rather than anything wrong with his wife or kids.

  38. computer problems it is guys…his computer crashed and he had to reformat it and is loading the software back up…all in between his work and home and all that. I imagine he has been using his phone to update his FB status….so that is how I know…FB status…

  39. Leisia, Tak eit easy and Get well soon. I was part of the last challenge. I have posted less this time around. Keep posting with updates. I do get on the computer and read them and they are an encouragement. This challenge has been a little different than the other for me. I have been at a plateau almost like since we started this one. IE:Up 1 down 2 up 4 down 1. I know that I was not motivated to exercise after taking care of my husband and children and getting some work done. I was drained.I rise around 3 am and go to bed around 8:30p. I knew that element was lacking(not there) after looking through close to 90 pages of journaling the physical activity column had things like pick up the children, do the grocerty shopping, mop floors etc. I woke up this week and I asked myself the question What is your excuse today, now realizing that these things have to be done but me being healthier makes it so much better. So this week I did take the children to the doctor 2 days, but before I went I did my cardio for and hour interval walking with Leslie Sansone (cause it's dark outside at 5am) Drank my water and I felt so much better. Now I must admit that I was so sore the next day and my legs felt like they weighed a ton but I felt like I truly accomplished something that was on the list for me. Fell asleep tonight and woke up at 11:55p was meaning to do my cardio and strenghth training before 12. I had this Sunday as REST DAY, since I didn't get my activity in for Friday-it is now switched to Sunday and Friday goes down as the rest day for this week. Right now I just have to go back to doing my cardio in the morning while my family is sleep until I get closer to my goal waist size. Had a tailor measure me and I was not happy with the results, but they are my true measurements and I will know where I am starting as of this week. Like I said I have basically been at a plateau with a loss and then gaining and then losing the weight I gained. I do read your comments. I've read you'll experience gains, losses, plateaus, illnesses, travel, work and trying to get to the gym. It is encouraging to know that when you go through some things you are not the only one and people are coming through the things with flying colors. Maybe it was a good thing that the post is not done for this week, it got the board a little more active since the last weigh in, and to encourage someone else while Matt computer is out of whack. Again thanks. I hope you all tolerate the comment for being so long as it might be while before I post again, but rest asure when you see the number for how many people are viewing the post- I most like will be one of them. GOD BLESS

  40. Thanks for the update Matt! I am so sorry to hear about your computer! I know how important a computer is to everyone's life and when you loose that, you feel that a part of your life is gone. I'm just glad it is your computer and not something with your family. It has gotten some of us to come out of lurkdom and post. I'm glad to hear that 36 people are still working at this challenge. I know I'm still hear and enjoying every minute of it. I look forward to seeing the results as soon as you get them ready. Welcome back and good luck retrieving all your lost information! 🙂

  41. I am glad you and your family are okay Matt. We were getting worried about you. I hope you get everything straightened out without much more headaches over it. "Computers…..you can't live with them and in this day and time you can't hardly live without them."

  42. Hi Everyone,

Alex and I are still in it and sending in our weights each week. We can do this together!

Matt – sorry to hear about your computer. One step at a time.

I am trying to get started on emptying my house out so we can put it on the market…lots of work..we are building a new house new my mothers and it's going to be a long 1-2 years ahead….BUT I am focusing on my health first. I can't do all the building or helping if I am still too overweight.

Is everyone still losing or stuck?

    Lisa J

  43. Matt that is such a bummer. We have gone through that many times and it sucks..

Okay I got a heart rate monitor so I can keep track of it plus it keeps track of calories burned. It's kinda a fancy one.. I can download the watch to a website so it can track it. My hubby got it ages ago but then I lost the battery back on the chest strap so it wouldn't work. So I got a new strap and ready to use it. I don't know what my target rate should be but my resting rate ws 97. Anyone know much about them?

  44. Okay, I am finally getting to feeling better. I thought I was dying with that flu. I woke up feeling so much better today…thank goodness.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. 🙂

  45. Any news on the week 10 results yet?

  46. I'm ticked. I just heard from an ankle specialist today that I am probably going to have to have surgery on this ankle of mine. Finally something is being fixed though. But that means exersize (Crossfit) is out for a while. Crap!

    Rebecca

    Week 10 results ????
    Oh well…

  48. Rebecca that is terrible…I am so sorry. Like you said though- at least it is getting fixed. You can still get through this challenge, I hope you don't give up.

  49. I really hope we get week 10 results before we get week 11. I think I was in the running for Biggest Loser of the week last week and I would love to know if I got it before this week's results come out, which aren't looking anywhere near as good for me.

  50. HI Everyone!

I just did my best time ever on the treadmill – – 3mph for 60 minutes and I did weights with my arms on and off for the hour! Alex did the recumbent bike for an hour as well.

I am nervous about weighing in tomorrow…..I always am even though I keep meticulous track of our calories everyday ….this is the longest ever with a food journal…I've kept is going on 11 weeks! A WORLD RECORD!!!!!!

I pray everyone to have a great weigh in tomorrow… be sure to keep up the messages we have to help each other.

    Lisa J.
