I had the privilege of being on my sister Ruth’s podcast, The Beautiful Kingdom Builders. Almost a decade ago she launched a Facebook group with the purpose of advocating for women, justice, victims of abuse, and healing from church hurt … her following on that page has grown to more than 75,000 people, which is absolutely amazing. This year she (finally!) launched a podcast where she can have conversations with authors, speakers, advocates … and me. In addition to being the voice behind The Beautiful Kingdom Builders, she is also a pastor of three churches in the Methodist church.
You can watch or listen to the episode on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and more! Or you can just watch it below! I really enjoyed the conversation with her; it’s been fascinating to me to see how each of us have navigated the challenges with the fundamentalist faith we were exposed to as children and how that process has landed us both in ministry today. in particular, our conversation centered on Ethnos360’s (formerly New Tribes Mission) mishandling of abuse in its boarding schools with a focus on the school we attended).
