Time for the Student Quest Sunday recap for August 23rd, 2026! We played Over Under Pop Quiz, a back to school edition of my Over Under series of games that just came out! Our teaching time continued our series in Philippians, taught by Andrew Persing. He was originally scheduled to teach just middle school, but we found out a few minutes before we were beginning that our high school teacher wasn’t able to make it so Andrew saved the day and taught the combined group!
We had a few announcements/reminders:

This week we were in the second of four weeks in Philippians. Andrew taught the combined group about humility. Paul wrote Philippians 2 to address something that was threatening to tear apart the community he loved … selfishness. He points to Jesus as the ultimate model of humility, and challenges students to think about what it would look like to put others first in their own relationships. Here are some follow up question you can ask your student(s):
- Paul says to think of others as better than yourselves. What do you think that actually looks like in a real friendship?
- Jesus had every right to demand His own way and chose to serve instead. What does that tell us about what humility really is?
