January Reading Recap

This year I’ve decided to be more intentional with tracking my reading … which means I’ve started logging everything on Goodreads. I read six books in January, a solid start to the year. Here’s the list in order of when I finished them and my quick thoughts on each one:

The Tangle Box (Magic Kingdom of Landover #4) by Terry Brooks. I started this book series decades ago … and finally got around to finishing it this year (after rereading the first few volumes in 2025)! I really enjoy the series. It’s a fantasy story about a guy who manages to purchase a magic kingdom.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. I read this one because Micah, my oldest son, said it was amazing and I wanted to read it before watching the movie. Micah was right. This book was incredible. Highly, highly recommend and now I can’t wait for the film!

I Am In Here: The Journey of a Child with Autism Who Cannot Speak but Finds Her Voice by Elizabeth M. Bonker. I already blogged about this one, you can find that post here.

The Path Between Us: An Enneagram Journey to Healthy Relationships by Suzanne Stabile. I really liked this one; I find the enneagram super helpful for understanding myself and my interactions with others, and I really like Stabile’s approach and explanations.

Witches’ Brew (Magic Kingdom of Landover #5) by Terry Brooks. Such a fun series! I really wish Brooks would write more in the Landover world.

The Witch of Pungo: Grace Sherwood in Virginia History and Legend by Scott O. Moore. During our 25th anniversary trip to Williamsburg, Heather and I went to a witch trial recreation one night where they dramatized the trial of Grace Sherwood. I found it all fascinating and really enjoyed diving deeper into the history with this book.
